What are some things that frustrate you most about living with obesity?
BennyFosterMember
For me, it’s the constant judgement and assumptions from other people. It can also be frustrating when weight becomes the focus of every health conversation instead of looking at the whole person.

That I have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Also, that I am lazy and have no sense of self-control.

Hi
Have you ever been tested for nutrional or hormone decifiencies? They can make you feel exhausted all the time, which leads to eating more to help stay awake and exercising less. Many people also suffer from disordered eating, which can be treated with the help of a good therapist.
I suspect you would have joined this community if you were simply lazy. Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

We are lazy, we stink. All we do is eat. And eat junk. Wondering what seating is like at a restaurant, theater, etc. Having trouble finding clothes, shoes.

And the stereotypes are cruel and unfair. Some of the strongest people I know are obsese, and hygeine has nothing to do with weight. I wish such ignorance and cruelty didn't exist, but, sadly, some people will never get it unless they experience weight battles themselves. I am glad we have this community, where empathy is the norm. - Lori (Team Member)

That it is our fault, we're lazy and we have poor eating and exercise habits.

I don't celebrate this holiday since not everyone was "free" when it was proclaimed. It isn't inclusive of any people of color at all and we are on stolen land, so I've spent it working like any other day.
