Need advice identifying what causes me to desire and crave pastries at night.

A few blocks from my house there is a Super K store that I find myself visiting every now and then every few nights. For some reason I find myself craving pastries virtually every time I head there. I don't know the full context as to why, but I find myself buying one or two wrapped already made pastries every time I head there.

It's a strange anomaly in my head I can't seem to figure out. I also end up buying a protein milk shake when I head there. It's more clear as to why I buy the latter. I have a mental image that drinking protein milk shake would do wonders to make my tummy digest the pastries and that it would add more nutrients to my belly.

Any input on the pastries though. Id like to figure that out in this situation.

  1. Hi . We're not experts, but my guess would be that you crave the sugar in the pastries. Convenience store pastries are packed with the worst kinds of sugars, so that is a habit you might want to try to break. Maybe you could start by limiting yourself to one pastry and then buying only one pastry every other trip. Eventually, maybe you can eliminate the Super K trips altogether. That can be hard though, especially since it's so close by. - Lori (Team Member)

    1. I don't really think its the super. I really think that if that were the case I'd consistently buy different junk foods on each visit. That's not the case. I myself seem to buy the same thing every time.
