What does "healthy" mean to you?

There are many definitions for what constitutes a "healthy" person or lifestyle. How would you define the term? What behaviors or actions have you taken to be "healthy"?

  1. I define "healthy" as being in harmony on all levels—mentally, emotionally, and physically. It's not just about nutrition and weight; it's also about maintaining an active lifestyle, managing stress, having energy, and getting enough sleep. I make an effort to eat well-balanced meals, drink plenty of water, get regular exercise—even if it's simply walking—and schedule time for relaxation and mental health. It's not about perfection, but about lasting habits.

    1. Great points! I know many people who are at their recommended weights or below weight who are not even remotely healthy. Health is about far more than weight, that's for sure, and these are all perfect reminders. How do you feel about your own overall health? Wishing you the best. - Lori (Team Member)

  2. Healthy to me involves the body, mind, and spirit. Having good numbers at the doctor's office, having good mental health, and having a spiritual practice is health to me.

    1. What a wonderful and well-rounded definition. So often, we ignore mental/spiritual health when we talk about overall health, but mental health has a powerful impact on physical health. We really need to care for our whole selves. Thanks for chiming in. Warmly, Lori (Team Member)

  3. Being able to wake-up everyday, and doing what I need to do.

    1. That's a great way to look at it! Thanks for joining the conversation. Warmly, Lori (Team Member)

  4. My body functioning in a way that maintains optimal health: appropriate weight, manageable pain, low inflammation, easy mobility, optimal mental health.

    1. struggling to achieve. My weight goes up
Despite me doing all the correct things. Inflammation everything hurts

    2. Hi . Inflammation can sabotage weight loss efforts on so many levels between the pain, the weight fluctuations, the medications to control it. My heart goes out to you. Have you ever considered asking your doctor for help? You might benefit from a referral to a dietician or a weight loss clinic. The new weight loss medications are also effective in controlling inflammation in many people. Is that an option for you? Please know we are here for you whenever you need us. You are not alone. - Lori (Team Member)
