For those who have had bariatric surgery (also known as weight loss surgery), what was your recovery like? Did you experience any side effects from your procedure? What helped you recover and stay comfortable as you healed?
I'm thinking about having the bariatric surgery but I have questions about it.Or, even if I should.

That can be a really tough decision. I am glad you are investigating it further before jumping in. If you decide to do it, it's important to find a reputatable clinic that will make sure you can maintain the necessary dietary changes before you have surgery. The weight loss clinic near me requires that all surgery candidates follow a special diet for six months before surgery. Have you already tried weight loss medications? Please know we are here for you. Gentle hugs. - Lori (Team Member)

Thank you for sharing, would you like to tell us more about how you feeling about this? If I understand correctly from your comment, and please correct me , If I am wrong. Would you not want to have this kind of surgery?

I had my Duodenal Switch in 2009, and recently spent time in a nursing home recovering from a head injury. I'm now trying to overcome severe protein calorie malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies due to mismanagement of my dietary and suplement needs.

I am sorry to hear about your head injury, . Have you been in the nursing home long? Are you expected to make a full recovery? I am guessing the staff doesn't understand the nutritional needs of someone who had the duodenal switch surgery. Is anyone advocating for you? Thinking of you and sending lots of healing vibes your way. - Lori (Team Member)
