Support is important

6/6/2006, I had a Rouxen Y Gastric Bypass. I was 350 lbs and miserable. With the surgery, I lost 220 lbs but due to being too thin, I got up to 150 lbs in which I kept off until 2020. Menopause hit hard and I gained over 100 lbs back. Thankfully, I've lost 30 lbs since then but the effort is rough. In July, God told me to start a TOPS chapter in my county. I had been in TOPS 3 times in the past so knew what it was all about. Since Then, these women have been my strength, my encouragement and my support. Without this support, I would feel alone and frustrated. I am so thankful for this and look forward to changing my eating habits and my emotional health. Support systems are so important and I encourage you to find it in your area.

  1. Hi . How awesome that you have been able to take some of that weight back off again. That can't be easy. Do you think the stress and lifestyle of COVID contributed to the 100-pound gain? TOPS is a great organization and nothing beats in-person support. I'm glad you launched a chapter and that you found your tribe. I hope this post inspires others to do the same. Thanks for being here with us. Best of all wishes. - Lori (Team Member)
