  1. Group weight loss. Lost 167 lbs in one yr but did it for everyone but myself tore knee and unable to exercise so I gained some of it back

    1. I'm sorry to hear about your injury. Is this something you can eventually recover from? Injuries can really take you out. I gained weight after a foot injury that required two foot sugeries. I'm still struggling to take that weight off.
I'm glad you recognize that weight loss is most successful in the long-term when you do it for yourself, not for others. Still, a 167-pound weight loss is quite an achievement. Do you want to continue with weight loss or are you happy at your current weight? If you do want to continue, is there a different approach you'd prefer?

  2. I'm on a GLP1 (Victoza). I have not lost weight, but it has help me with portion control, so I haven't gained any. I'm not eligible for other GLP's since I'm not diabetic and my health insurance (BCBS) will not cover the others if I am not diabetic.

    1. Hi . From what I understand, Victoza doesn't result in huge amounts of weight loss, but it can help you get started and maybe change your habits. Have you been on it long? Have you experienced any side effects? I hope you eventually see some more results from it. Best wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    2. Since October 2025 and no side effects. Thanks for the info. I hadn't heard that but definitely am experiencing the no weight loss, which was sort of disappointing, on the other hand my portion control is A1. I can only eat small portion. Which is a plus in itself.

  3. I tried pretty much everything before my VSG surgery. different diets, various diabetes medications that were supposed to help with weight, exercise routines. The frustrating thing was that even when I'd lose some weight, my blood sugar would still be all over the place, and the weight would eventually come back.

The VSG was honestly a game changer for me. I was able to come off all my diabetes meds for about six months, which felt incredible. I'm back on some medication now as my body adjusted and paired it with my routine walks, but I'm still maintaining much better control than before surgery. The biggest challenge post-surgery has been not falling back into old eating habits, those comfort foods like pasta and pizza still call my name XD

  4. I lost 100+ lbs with TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and have kept it off for more than 3 years. I have a little more to lose, but with the support and accountability of TOPS, I know I can do it!

    1. Hi . That's wonderful! I have heard good things about that program. Do the weekly meetings help? Warm wishes. - Lori (Team Member)

    2. yes, the weekly meetings are key. They keep me accountable and a the support of friends who know what I am going through is great. I know I wouldn’t have been able to keep off what I have lost if it weren’t for TOPS.
